The diagram show the play sequence for a SHORT GAME where the object is to be the first side to score FOUR points. When the scored is tied at three all, then hoop 1 becomes hoop 7 and is run from the boundary line side. A SHORT GAME time limit is frequently set at 15 minutes.
A FULL GAME is where the game ends after one side has scored SEVEN points. The order of play continuing from hoop 6 is: hoop 2 becomes hoop 7 run from the boundary side, hoop 1 becomes hoop 8, hoop 4 becomes hoop 9, hoop 3 becomes hoop 10, hoop 6 becomes hoop 11 and hoop 5 becomes hoop 12… all run in the direction opposite from that previously played. When the scored is tied at six all, then hoop 3 becomes hoop 13 and is run from the boundary line side. A FULL GAME time limit is frequently set at 30 minutes.
Orange pegs (when used) provide a visual reference for a ball being OFF-SIDES... that is, when more than half-way to the next hoop to be played before the current hoop is made... but only if it did not hit an opponent's ball when getting there. When a ball is called off-sides by the opponent it remains where it is, but then misses it's next turn... but it must be called before it is played.
